Stop! Shelf Cloud Approaches

The view from Jacksonville, FL at 8:00 p.m. tonight. I am looking towards the west and am in the east-central portion of Jacksonville. A Special Weather Statement was valid for Duval County at this time. No rotation (visual or RADAR) was observed. The shelf cloud silently passed by at 13 knots/hr. Winds gusted to 15 mph, but I didn't stick around to see the rain. NWS JAX said they had measured gusts to 40 knots, as the system passed their station.

SWeet Jay. Was glad you called. Nothing like a shelf cloud to get the blood going. You should be getting more stuff tonight and tomorrow..
