SOME EARLY REPORTS......

Ashburn is under a State of Emergency and a curfew is in effect because of storm damage.

A possible tornado hit the western corner of the town around 9:30 Saturday night. Trees and power lines are down, homes are damaged and the roof was ripped off at least one business.

Georgia Emergency Management Agency workers are on the way to Ashburn, as is the American Red Cross Disaster Response Team.

The Ashburn Civic Center is open for anyone who needs shelter.
A midnight to 6 AM curfew is now in effect and people should stay off the streets.

The Treutlen County Sheriff's Department says the fire station in Lothair was damaged. The roof is falling in and one firefighter suffered minor injuries. Two trucks were also damaged. A tornado reportedly touched down three miles from Abbeville around 9:44 p.m. Storms also affected Alamo, Dublin, Eastman, McRae, Mount Vernon, Soperton, Swainsboro, Vidalia and Wrightsville. Parts of the area got as much as four inches of rain in just a couple of hours. There were also numerous reports of cars in ditches, trees blocking roads and power lines down.
