When I saw the first image above at 12:41, I suggested that Dewdrop forget about the storms to the east and head back up highway 94 toward Valdosta. Personally, I could not understand why the NWS did not issue a tornado warning for Thomasville. The storm was showing strong signs of rotation and the TVS algorithm tripped. This is not second-guessing; I wondered it at the time.

I told Dewdrop to take the bypass to the north when she got there and that she would be in a perfect position to intercept this storm It appeared that the Thomasville storm would be just to her north by the time she arrived in her position, just east of Valdosta. That is exactly what happened and she called in a report to the NWS. I am looking forward to photos and video.

Now we have this initial report in from the NWS Talahassee...

SEVERAL TREES DOWN COUNTYWIDE. SOME TOPS WERE TRISTED OFF THE TREES. AN OLD BARN WAS DESTROYED. THE GREATEST SWATH OF DAMAGE WAS FROM THE HWY 84 BYPASS TO COUNTY LINE R (TAE)

Southwestern State Hospital was hit by the center of the storm. No patient or staff injuries but lots of building damage, downed trees and disabled cars.
