Dew is at the Jasper exit on I-75

She has seen lots of cloud to ground lightning, rotation, a wall cloud, and "classic supercell structure". She has to get back home but it was a good trip for her and I am eager to hear her report. Come back soon for more updates!!!

Nice updates Mike. I need to get the GRLevel2 radar so I can get the snapshots like the rest of you.

Which Gibson Ridge software do you recommend. Level2, Level3, or Level2 Analyst? Analyst looks pretty cool, but I don't think I have a machine that can run it!

I just have an old trial version of the original level 3. I want to get the Level 2 Analyst.

http://www.grlevelx.com/gr2analyst/

Requirements: $250!
System Requirements

GR2Analyst has significant system requirements:

* Windows XP or above
* DirectX 9.0c
* Graphics adapter with shader model 2.0 support

With the exception of the volume renderer, most shader model 2.0 video cards will be sufficient to run GR2Analyst. The volume renderer is both CPU and GPU intensive, requiring fast a CPU and mid to high end graphics adapters. Recommended requirements for the volume renderer:

* Pentium4 2.26GHz or higher
* 512MB of system memory
* At least 128MB of dedicated video memory
* 256-bit video memory bus -or- a high speed 128-bit video memory bus
* 8 or more pixel shader units

Looked into it just a little, Mike...?

Mikey, I don't know if it works with mac... but, if you can't go with Analyst, which Jay runs and loves (and I drool over), GRlevel3 is a nice alternative, not nearly the resource hog, and with alisonhouse.com, there are some great add-ons that really enhance the storm chasing experience. Jay is pretty much our resident expert. I used to think he was making commission. He actually gave a presentation at the spotter training I coordinated. Awesome.
