Amazing rainfall totals in Brevard County, Florida





NEXRAD and CoCoRaHS reports are showing rainfall of Biblical proportions in parts of the East Coast of Florida, especially in Brevard County. One person, from just west of Palm Shores, FL reported that since yesterday morning 18.42" of rain had fallen as of 2:07 ET this afternoon and it was still raining. He said, "This is my rainfall total since 8 am yesterday morning. Storm Total so far is 18.42, still raining. There is a report just to the south of me as of 2 pm of 24.80 inches from a reliable observer)!"

Here is an excerpt from the latest NHC advisory, issued at 4 p.m. ET:
FAY IS EXPECTED TO PRODUCE ADDITIONAL RAINFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF 5 TO
10 INCHES OVER EAST-CENTRAL AND NORTHEASTERN FLORIDA...WITH 3 TO 6
INCHES OVER SOUTHEASTERN GEORGIA. ISOLATED STORM TOTAL AMOUNTS OF
30 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN FLORIDA.

J.B. Elliot of Alabamawx.com noted that a NWS employee who lives near Melbourne has
reported the 24.80" referenced above.
